Responsibilities
The School of Health Professions at NYIT, Old Westbury campus anticipates openings for part-time (adjunct) instructors for daytime/ evening courses in Fall 2021 and Spring 2021 semester. The School of Health Professions at NYIT is offering a Medical Coding course to prepare students to use and apply medical coding for insurance reimbursement in a medical establishment. The course consists of 60 hours per semester in a combination of face-to-face teaching hours and independent student preparation. Upon conclusion, the student will receive a certificate of completion.

The course will provide:

sound knowledge of medical coding rules and regulations.
familiarity with compliance standards and coding procedures.

Qualifications
Required: Prior medical billing and coding experience and a Bachelors Degree.

Preferred: AAPCs CPC certified, and/or a Masters Degree.

Preference will be given to candidates with some prior experience in remote teaching using Blackboard/ Canvas LMS for course delivery. Instructors teaching Medical Coding courses must use Cengage WebAssign online homework for their courses.
